Champions League Football Tournament postponed due to the disaster, to resume on the 19th

The Sri Lankan team left the island this morning (10) to take part in the Under-19 Asian Youth Cricket Championship, which is being held in the United Arab Emirates.
It is reported that Vimath Dinsara of Royal College, Colombo, will serve as the captain of the team, while Kavija Gamage of Kingswood College, Kandy, will function as the vice-captain.
Meanwhile, Kugathas Mathulan of St John’s College, Jaffna, who had been named in the preliminary squad, has been sidelined due to an injury.
Accordingly, Himál Ravihansa, a bowler from Joseph Vaz College, Wennappuwa, has been called up.
Sri Lanka will compete in Group ‘B’ of the tournament, alongside Afghanistan, Bangladesh, and Nepal.
Under this grouping, Sri Lanka’s first match will be played against Nepal on 13 December.
Group ‘A’ comprises India, Pakistan, Malaysia, and the host nation, the United Arab Emirates.
