China to support Sri Lanka’s development initiatives
The delegation led by the Deputy Minister of the International Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (IDCPC) has informed President Comrade Anura Kumara Dissanayake that China is willing to support Sri Lanka in various development initiatives, including investment promotion, technology transfer, digitization and uplifting the rural economy.
That was when the Chinese delegation led by Comrade Sun Haiyan, Deputy Minister of the International Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (IDCPC), met President Comrade Anura Kumara Dissanayake at the Presidential Office on the 25th.
The Chinese Vice Minister congratulated Comrade Anura Kumara Dissanayake on his victory in the last presidential election and his party’s massive victory in the general election. He appreciated the transformational changes that have taken place in Sri Lanka after these victories.
The delegation led by the Deputy Minister has stated to Comrade Dissanayake that China is ready to work closely with Sri Lanka under his leadership.
The development prospects of both China and Sri Lanka have been focused on, and the importance of establishing a mutually beneficial long-term cooperation program between the two countries has also been discussed.
The delegation informed the President that China is willing to support Sri Lanka in various development initiatives, including investment promotion, technology transfer, digitization, and upliftment of the rural economy.
They have also assured the President that they will provide China’s support to improve the development of Sri Lanka’s human resources, especially through the training of officials in the field of education.
President Comrade Anura Kumara Dissanayake has expressed his gratitude for the continuous support the Chinese government provides to Sri Lanka and emphasized that he is committed to further developing cooperation between the two countries.
Minister of Foreign Affairs Comrade Vijitha Herath, President’s Secretary Dr. Nandika Sanath Kumanayake joined the discussion with the President while the Deputy Director General of the International Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (IDCPC) Comrade Lin Tao, Director Comrade Li Jinyan, Vice Minister’s Secretary Comrade Jin Yan, People’s Republic of China’s Ambassador to Sri Lanka Comrade Qi Zhenhong also participated representing the Chinese delegation.
