United States President Donald Trump has asserted that his tariff strategy played a decisive role in halting multiple global conflicts. In a new statement, he claimed that he stopped five of eight wars by using tariff threats, while also insisting that these measures have brought substantial financial gains to the United States.

Former U.S. President Donald Trump stated his tariff strategy stopped multiple global conflicts and brought financial gains to the United States; he also linked these tariffs to a strengthening U.S. economy and the upcoming November 5th election.
Trump Links Tariff Threats to Peace Efforts
In a strongly worded post on Truth Social, Trump said that the economic pressure created by tariffs directly contributed to ending conflicts.
"We are taking in TRILLIONS of Dollars in Tariffs and Investment Dollars from foreign lands because of Tariffs. I have stopped 5 of the eight WARS directly because of the threat of Tariffs if they don't stop fighting or, better yet, if they start," he wrote.
His comments follow earlier claims regarding his role in helping ease tensions between India and Pakistan in May. India, however, has never confirmed that his intervention played any part in the ceasefire understanding.
Claims of Economic Strength Under Tariff Policy
Trump also linked his tariff approach to what he described as a strengthening US economy. Taking a swipe at Joe Biden, he wrote that there is almost "no inflation" now, contrasting it with what he called "the worst in USA History under Sleepy Joe Biden".
According to Trump, the economy is thriving. "The Stock Market just hit an ALL-TIME HIGH for the 48th time in 9 months. To Leonard Leo, Koch, and all of the Countries and Slimeballs that have ripped off the United States of America for years through the use of their own Tariffs, we don't have a Court System that's going to let you destroy our Country any longer," he said, accusing several individuals and nations of exploiting the United States.
'November 5' and Tariffs Cited as Reasons for US Strength
Emphasising his central message, Trump claimed that the United States is currently the "richest, strongest, and most respected" it has ever been. He attributed this to "November 5th", the date of the 2024 US presidential election, along with his tariff policies, which he believes have reshaped the country's global standing.
