Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has said it remains on high alert as the United States moves additional naval assets closer to the Middle East, further escalating already tense relations between the two countries.

Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), under commander General Mohammad Pakpour, is on high alert due to the US deploying naval assets closer to the Middle East, with President Donald Trump acknowledging the military readiness, including the USS Abraham Lincoln.
The warning from Tehran comes amid increasingly forceful rhetoric from US President Donald Trump and visible military repositioning in the region.
Iran Issues Strong Warning Amid Rising Tensions
According to Nournews, a local outlet cited by the Associated Press, IRGC commander General Mohammad Pakpour cautioned both the United States and Israel against making any strategic missteps. Stressing Iran's military preparedness, Pakpour underlined that the country's forces were ready to respond instantly if required.
"The Islamic Revolutionary Guards and dear Iran stand more ready than ever, finger on the trigger, to execute the orders and directives of the Commander-in-Chief," Nournews quoted Pakpour as saying.
Iran's message reflects growing concern in Tehran over the movement of US naval forces and the tone of recent statements from Washington.
Trump Signals Readiness for Possible Action
US President Donald Trump has continued to adopt a hardline posture, openly acknowledging the deployment of American naval power closer to Iran. Speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One on Thursday, Trump said the move was precautionary but left the door open for further action.
"We have a massive fleet heading in that direction, and maybe we won't have to use it," Trump said, suggesting that the show of force was intended to deter escalation while keeping military options available.
The remarks marked one of Trump's clearest public acknowledgements of heightened US military readiness in the region.
US Warships Operating Near the Region
A US Navy official, speaking on condition of anonymity due to the sensitivity of the operation, confirmed that the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln, along with accompanying warships, was operating in the Indian Ocean as of Thursday, according to an AP report.
The presence of the carrier strike group adds to concerns that the standoff could intensify if diplomatic channels fail to ease tensions. With both sides issuing warnings and showcasing military preparedness, the situation remains volatile as global attention stays focused on developments in the Middle East.
