A knife attack at a university in Russia's Bashkortostan Republic left at least six people injured, including four Indian students. The incident occurred on Saturday when a teenager entered the dormitory of the State Medical University in Ufa and attacked the residents, according to the Interior Ministry.

The suspect, a 15-year-old, resisted arrest and injured two police officers before harming himself. "Several persons including four Indian students have been injured," stated the Indian Embassy, describing the event as unfortunate. The Embassy is coordinating with local authorities, and officials from the Consulate in Kazan are heading to Ufa to assist the injured students.

Medical Care for Victims

The Russian Federal Health Ministry reported that four people are receiving medical treatment following the attack. One individual is in serious condition, while three others have moderate injuries. The attacker has also been hospitalised in a local children's hospital and is in serious condition, as per the Baza telegram channel.

Authorities in Ufa, located about 1,200 km east of Moscow, have initiated a comprehensive investigation into the attack. The Baza channel suggested that the attacker was associated with a banned neo-Nazi group. During the attack, he allegedly shouted nationalist slogans related to the Holocaust and used victims' blood to draw a Swastika on a wall.

Eyewitness Accounts and Investigation

Eyewitnesses described scenes of chaos with blood everywhere. Ren TV broadcasted footage showing ambulances transporting the wounded to hospitals. The authorities are probing into these claims as part of their investigation into this violent incident.

The Indian mission has confirmed its engagement with local authorities to ensure the safety and well-being of its nationals affected by this tragic event. They are closely monitoring the situation and providing necessary support to those involved.
