ITAK Wins Batticaloa District with Over 33% of Votes

The Election Commission of Sri Lanka has announced the final results for the Batticaloa District, with the Ilankai Thamil Arasu Kachchi (ITAK) leading with over 33% of the votes.

  • Ilankai Thamil Arasu Kachchi (ITAK): 96,975 votes, securing 3 seats
  • National People’s Power (NPP): 55,498 votes, securing 1 seat
  • Sri Lanka Muslim Congress (SLMC): 40,139 votes, securing 1 seat
  • Tamil Makkal Viduthalai Pulikal (TMVP): 31,286 votes
  • Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB): 22,570 votes
