A cooperation programme and a conference under the theme “Justice for Palestine, Southern Global Initiative” were held at the Bandaranaike International Conference Hall in Colombo yesterday (29) to mark International Palestine Solidarity Day.
On this occasion, BDS MOVEMNT’s South Asia Coordinator Apoorva Gautham joined the occasion as the Chief Guest, Palestinian Ambassador Suhair Mohammad, Chairman of the Palestine Solidarity Committee, Janata Vimukti Peramuna National Organizer Bimal Ratnayake, H.E.MA.Franche, the United Nations Coordinator to Sri Lanka, the Ambassador of Kuwait, the High Commissioner of Bangladesh, and many others were present.
Members of Parliament Dilan Perera, Rauf Hakeem, Weerasumana Weerasinghe, Imtiaz Bakir Marker and former Member of Parliament Wasantha Samarasinghe were also present.
Representing the Socialist Youth Union, its National Organizer Eranga Gunasekara, its Secretary of International Affairs, Anjana Amarasinghe, Madhu Kalpana Madhubashini, the former vice president of the World Democratic Youth Federation, and a group of the Socialist Youth Union were also present.
