Lankadeepa editor Siri Ranasinghe felicitated

A felicitation ceremony named ‘Siri Asiri’ to honour veteran journalist Siri Ranasinghe, who has held the editorship of Lankadeepa for 33 consecutive years was held at the Sri Lanka Foundation Institute (SLFI) this evening.The ceremony was held under the patronage of Chairman of the Wijeya Newspapers Ranjith Wijewardene.The event was graced by former presidents Mahinda Rajapaksa, Maithripala Sirisena,former speaker Karu Jayasuriya, several ministers and Parliamentarians. Special lectures were delivered by Chief Prelate of the Amarapura Sri Dharmarakshitha Maha Nikaya Most Ven. Thirikunamalaye Ananda Thera, retired principal Deiyandara Amara Gunasekara, veteran journalist Thilakaratne Kuruwita Bandara, Prof. Sena Nanayakkara of Mass Communications Section of the Rajarata University.Pix by Nimalsiri Edirisinghe
