October 25, Colombo (LNW): Litro Gas Lanka is accelerating its island-wide distribution programme, aiming to supply 700,000 domestic gas cylinders by October 27 in response to growing consumer demand.
The company said its efforts to replenish the local market had been strengthened by fresh shipments, including a delivery of 3,900 metric tonnes of gas brought to Sri Lanka by the vessel GOODWIL on October 24. The shipment followed an earlier consignment that arrived on October 22, with another delivery expected to reach the country on October 26.
As part of the ongoing supply operation, Litro Gas is distributing 350,000 cylinders from the October 22 shipment across the country over a three-day period from October 23 to 25. The distribution drive is intended to improve availability at retail outlets and respond to household requirements.
With additional stocks arriving and further consignments expected, the company is working to maintain a steady flow of domestic gas to consumers across the island.
Litro Gas has expressed confidence that the increased deliveries will help ease supply pressures, with consumers expected to have better access to cooking gas in the coming days.
