More MPs leave Sajith
It is reported that three MPs elected from Samagi Jana Balavegaya in the last general election left the party leader, Sajith Prevamadasa, a few moments ago.
These three MPs, who have now left the party, were the representatives of the districts of Anuradhapura, Digamadulla, and Puttalam, as well as the All Ceylon People’s Congress Party from Samagi Jana Balawegaya.
They announced in a press conference that they will work with Ranil Wikremasingha’s team in the upcoming presidential election. Lawyers SMM Musharf, Ali Sabri Rahim, and Ishaq Rahman are the three MPs who have left. Of these three, Ali Sabri Rahim was caught by the customs department at Katunayake Airport while smuggling gold to Sri Lanka.
M. Velu Kumara left Sajith Premadasa this morning (15), and arrangements have been made to form an alliance for Ranil Wickremesinghe tomorrow (16).
