Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) National Organiser and Parliamentarian Namal Rajapaksa has been arrested by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC).
Rajapaksa was summoned by the Bribery Commission this morning (04) to provide a statement in connection with an ongoing investigation into the controversial Airbus deal.
The eldest son of former President Mahinda Rajapaksa appeared before CIABOC earlier today after being instructed in writing to appear before the commission.
He was subsequently arrested after recording a statement for more than five hours.
