The Ambassador of the Netherlands to Sri Lanka, Mrs Bonnie Horbach met the leader of the National People’s Power Anura Kumara Dissanayake and Dr Nalinda Jayatissa, the National Executive Member of the NPP, at the JVP head office yesterday (9th). Mr Namal Perera, Senior Policy Adviser of the Netherlands Embassy, was also present.
Both sides discussed the economic crisis and the socio-political situation facing Sri Lanka. The leaders of the NPP also took this opportunity to express their gratitude for the decision taken by the Netherlands government to return a number of artefacts taken away from Sri Lanka during the Dutch colonial era.
In recent months, many foreign ambassadors in this country met and held discussions with the leaders of the NPP. They included ambassadors from the United States of America, Japan, Canada, Korea and New Zealand.
