Ranil stuck in a naval knot

Although President Ranil Wickremesinghe announced that a 40-man battleship belonging to the Sri Lanka Navy would be deployed for the security of the Red Sea, he has failed to implement the move so far.
It has been revealed that this is due to the massive opposition within the country. It was estimated that 650 million rupees would have to be spent for this purpose. The Catholic Church has stated that it was ridiculous that the President, who had failed to protect the fishermen and the country’s fish resources from the invasion and attacks of the Indian fishermen, deployed the navy for the security of the Red Sea.
Also, there has been severe criticism regarding the government led by the President, who did not act to curb the drug trafficking brought to this country by sea and is interested in the security of the Red Sea. In this situation, President Ranil Wickremesinghe has been unable to send the relevant ship to the Red Sea.
