Sri Lanka’s Rumesh Tharanga Pathirage has clinched the men’s javelin throw title at the Zurich Diamond League with an outstanding throw of 92.07 metres.
Tharanga produced his winning effort in the final round of the competition, securing victory ahead of Grenada’s Anderson Peters, who finished second, and Poland’s Dawid Wegner, who took third place.
The 92.07-metre throw marks the second time the 23-year-old Sri Lankan has surpassed the 92-metre mark this year.
Tharanga is also the reigning men’s javelin gold medallist at the 2026 Commonwealth Games.
His victory in Zurich has secured his qualification for the Diamond League Final, which will be held in Brussels.
