President Anura Kumara Dissanayake stated that there is no need to create fear, and the security of the people and the country has been confirmed.
Attending a public meeting held in Puttalam, President Dissanayake said this, commenting on the reports that there may be an attack on the Israeli nationals in this country.
The President also highlighted the government’s swift and decisive action upon receiving the information, reassuring the public that all necessary measures were taken without delay. Therefore, the President emphasized that there should not be any undue fear and that the safety of not only Sri Lankans but also of all foreign nationals including Israeli nationals staying in this country at this moment has been confirmed.
President Dissanayake said, “We know that a war conflict has been created in the world by now. Sri Lanka had felt its dangerous situation. It was reported to us two weeks ago. The intelligence agencies had revealed it to us. At the same time, we started the relevant activities. Like earlier governments, there were no media discussions about those things. According to that information, we confirmed the safety of the citizens. We acted swiftly according to that intelligence and arrested the suspicious persons. In the same way, intelligence agencies and security agencies worked day and night to prevent such a situation from occurring without allowing civilians to think twice about security.
Citizens should be taken care of in terms of security, children should be taken care of in terms of education, and businesses should be taken care of. Everyone says that this government will collapse in a month, it will collapse in three months, but everyone should remember that we have not built a government that can collapse like that. Our commitment to the stability and resilience of this government is unwavering.
