Sri Lanka celebrates 76th Independence Day

The official ceremony to mark the 76th Independence Day of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka got off the ground at the Galle Face Green this morning Thai Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin as the guest of honour. The event saw the participation of President Ranil Wickremesinghe, Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena, visiting foreign dignitaries, diplomats, military personnel, religious leaders and politicians.
