President Anura Kumara Dissanayake held a virtual meeting with United States Trade Representative Ambassador Jamieson Greer on the evening of the 25th, focusing on reducing proposed tariffs on Sri Lankan exports.

The discussion centered on easing trade restrictions and strengthening economic cooperation between the two nations. Both sides emphasized the importance of fair access to markets and the mutual benefits of deepened investment and trade flows.

Joining the President were Dr. Harshana Suriyapperuma, Secretary to the Ministry of Finance, and senior officials from the U.S. Trade Representative’s Office. The dialogue reflects Sri Lanka’s continued efforts to protect its export sector while opening doors for broader international trade opportunities.
