Sumanthiran & Ponnambalam take a tough stand
It is reported that Member of Parliament, President’s Councilor M. A, Sumanthiran and Member of Parliament, Advocate Gajendralakumar Ponnambalam, have not signed the agreement that a common Tamil candidate should be presented for the presidential election.
Seven political parties and civil groups signed agreements yesterday (22) that a common candidate should be presented for the Tamil people. The leader of the Tamil People’s Alliance, Member of Parliament C. V. Wigneswaran, initiated this move. It has been announced that a committee representing the organizations that signed the agreement will be formed to select the candidate.
