Sri Lankans living abroad have started coming in an organized manner to ensure the victory of the National People’s Power in the presidential election.
The first group to arrive is from Canada. It is reported that the group has come under the organization of NPP Canada and is ready to engage in active politics. They will stay in the country for almost two months.
However, certain political parties, especially Samagi Jana Balawegaya, have expressed their resentment regarding Sri Lankans living abroad getting involved in the presidential election process and have started making hateful statements. They forget that Sri Lankans living abroad provide the country with the most significant amount of foreign exchange and have a right to politics in the country.
