UN Rights Chief Meets NPP Leaders

The United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, Volker Turk, met with key leaders of the National People’s Power (NPP) at the JVP headquarters in Colombo today (26), in a high-level discussion focused on human rights, justice, and national reconciliation in Sri Lanka.

The meeting brought together senior NPP figures including JVP General Secretary Tilvin Silva, NPP General Secretary Dr. Nihal Abeysinghe, and Cabinet Ministers Bimal Ratnayake, Dr. Upali Pannilage, and Saroja Paulraj. The UN delegation included Resident Coordinator Marc Andre Franche, Chief of Asia Pacific Region, Global Operations Division Rory Mungoven, and other senior officials.
