We are all bound to fulfill the responsibilities of building a better country for future generations, emphasizes Ananda Wijepala, the National Executive Member of the National People’s Power.
He emphasized this while addressing the public rally held at Kurunegala Sathyawadi Grounds on the 8th to confirm the victory of the Kurunegala district candidates of the National People’s Power.
He said, “For a long time, farmers, fishermen, workers, professionals, as well as youths and women of our country have made commitments to this political movement with unwavering determination. As a result, we were able to appoint a son of a farming family as our president. A massive political, social and economic transformation is taking place in this country. We do not only make promises to you. We come up with policies about the responsibilities we have assumed. We contest elections held as a way of choosing representatives to carry those responsibilities. All these people are obliged to fulfill their obligations to build a good country for our future generations. The day is not far when the people who are at the bottom of poverty will stand up as proud citizens of this country.
We are implementing a program so that every child who enters school after next January will benefit from education. Every child’s right to education is affirmed as the primary responsibility of a National People’s Power government. 80% of the people of Kurunegala district are engaged in agriculture. We shall bring it to a profitable state and ensure the provision of quality food to the people of the country. Actions have already been initiated to recover every rupee plundered from the people by the corrupt and financial criminals. Finally, the construction of the Sri Lankan nation representing all the Sinhalese, Tamils and Muslims will become a reality in our government, and for that, we request a parliamentary majority that will bring victory to the country.”
