A serious situation has now emerged regarding the scandalous financial fraud and corruption that has never happened in the history of the Sri Lanka Bar Association.
When a meeting was called on the 18th, there had been strong criticism regarding fraud and corruption. It has been alleged that the current chairman, Kaushalya Navaratne, vice-chairman Nalinda Indra Tissa, and President’s Counsel, Shavendra Fernando, have misused 21 million rupees received as JICA aid.
A committee has been appointed to conduct a full investigation and is directed to submit its report within two months.
Faiz Mustapha, Ikram Mohammed, Rienzi Arsakularatne, K, Kanageeswaran, and Jeffir Alagaratnam have been appointed as inquiry committee members.
