On February 17, a widespread outage of YouTube affected users globally, with more than 320,000 complaints reported in the US and also impacting India and the UK, along with YouTube TV experiencing related service problems; the platform acknowledged the issue but has not yet confirmed the cause or timeline for full restoration.

A major disruption hit YouTube on February 17, leaving millions of users unable to access the platform properly. Many reported seeing a "Something Went Wrong" error while trying to open the app or load videos, indicating a large-scale technical glitch affecting multiple regions simultaneously.

Global Users Report Errors

The outage quickly spread across several countries, including India, the United States, the United Kingdom and parts of Europe. According to DownDetector, more than 320,000 users in the US alone logged complaints about the service disruption, making it one of the most reported outages for the platform in recent months.

Users reported issues with loading the homepage, searching for videos and accessing recommendations. The glitch appeared to affect both the mobile app and desktop version of the platform.

YouTube TV Also Hit

The disruption was not limited to the main video platform. YouTube TV also experienced service problems, with nearly 10,000 users reporting outages on DownDetector.

Streaming interruptions and login issues were among the most common complaints.
