Norwegian Ambassador meets NPP Leader
A meeting took place between Ms May-Elin Stener, Norwegian Ambassador in Sri Lanka stationed in New Delhi and Anura Kumara Dissanayake, the leader of National People’s Power, at the head office today (02) afternoon.
The second secretary of the Norwegian Embassy, Mr John Bjerke, and the National Executive Members of the National People’s Power, Dr Harini Amarasuriya and Mr Vijitha Herath were also present.
Both sides discussed at length the economic crisis Sri Lanka is currently confronting and the country’s political situation. They also paid attention to the current developments in the national problem and the elections to be held this year.
The Ambassador discussed Norway’s assistance to Sri Lanka and the need to strengthen relations between the two countries. She pointed out that the meeting was the first she held after her arrival in Sri Lanka.
