US President Donald Trump held a press briefing on Tuesday marking one year into his second term, hitting back against critics over his handling of the economy and immigration. He claimed his administration brought inflation under control, boosted economic growth, and deported "vicious criminals," while blaming former President Joe Biden for the problems he said he inherited.
Trump said the economy is booming and that inflation is way down from Biden's time. We inherited a mess, now we've brought inflation way down, he said, calling recent growth incredible. He thinks the fourth-quarter GDP will be over 5 percent and mentioned tons of new factories nationwide, crediting tariffs and big investments from companies like Apple, NVIDIA, Ford, GM, and Hyundai. He said the stock market and retirement accounts are up, along with real incomes.
During a Tuesday press briefing, U.S. President Donald Trump, marking one year of his second term, discussed economic achievements like controlling inflation and boosting growth, while criticizing former President Joe Biden's policies on the economy and immigration. Trump also mentioned potential collaboration with Venezuelan opposition leader Maria Corina Machado.

Trump complained that people aren't hearing about the good stuff. Maybe my PR team is bad, but we're not getting the word out, he joked.
About immigration, Trump blasted Biden's border policies, saying they let dangerous people in. He showed photos of people ICE caught, claiming many were serious criminals.
"These are bad people," Trump said, again blaming Biden for open borders. He called out Minnesota, accusing protesters against ICE of being paid agitators.
He praised ICE and Border Patrol officers, calling them "unfairly criticized.
About foreign policy, Trump said he might work with Venezuelan opposition leader Maria Corina Machado. "We're talking to her. I'd love to get her involved. The US will stay involved with Venezuela.
