Sri Lanka’s Foreign Remittances Reach $6.86 Billion in First Nine Months of 2026

Sri Lanka has recorded a total of $6.86 billion in foreign remittances from expatriate workers during the first nine months of 2026, according to the Central Bank of Sri Lanka.
This reflects a significant growth of $1.05 billion compared to the same period in 2025, during which remittances stood at $5.81 billion.
Furthermore, the Central Bank confirmed that remittances for the month of September alone reached $734.4 million, showing an increase of $38.7 million compared to the $695.7 million recorded in September 2025.
