As geopolitical tensions sharpen, two powerful figures chose starkly different ways to make their point. Iran's Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf turned to mathematics to deliver a pointed warning on global oil markets, while U.S. President Donald Trump ignited controversy with a provocative AI-generated image on social media.

Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Speaker of Iran's Parliament, posted a pointed message on X , sharing a screenshot of current U.S. gasoline prices near the White House and warning that closure of the Strait of Hormuz would drive prices far higher.

Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf mathematically illustrated how a Strait of Hormuz blockade could cause spiraling oil prices, while US President Donald Trump stirred controversy with an AI-generated Christ-like image shared on Truth Social.

In the post, Ghalibaf wrote: "Enjoy the current pump figures. With the so-called 'blockade', Soon you'll be nostalgic for $4-$5 gas."

The attached image, a Google Maps screenshot centered on Washington, D.C., shows real-time fuel prices at stations around the White House ranging from approximately $4.10 to $5.80 per gallon, with several listed between $4.14 and $4.62.

Ghalibaf accompanied the message with a mathematical notation:

ΔO_BSOH > 0 ⇒ f(f(O)) > f(O)

The formula suggests, If there is any disruption in oil supply due to a blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, oil prices won't just go up once - they will keep rising faster and faster.

In plain terms:

Blockade → less oil supply
Less supply → prices go up
Rising prices → trigger even more increases (panic buying, speculation)

So instead of a normal rise, prices could spiral upward quickly and repeatedly, becoming more expensive each time.

The message quickly drew thousands of reactions online, with supporters hailing it as a show of strength of Iran. Ghalibaf led the delegation to Pakistan to hold talks with US vice president Vance yesterday. He is a commercial pilot and former commander of elite Iranian fighter unit IRGC

Meanwhile US President Donald Trump has sparked fresh controversy after sharing an AI-generated image depicting himself in a Christ-like form, appearing to "heal" the sick, on his platform Truth Social.

The post comes amid an escalating war of words with Pope Leo XIV, whom Trump described as "weak on crime" and "terrible for foreign policy" in a separate, lengthy message.
