Two Sri Lankan Drug Traffickers Hiding in India Arrested in Rameswaram

Two Sri Lankan drug traffickers who had fled to India and were in hiding have been arrested in Rameswaram, Tamil Nadu.
According to initial reports, the suspects had escaped to India via a boat from the Pesalai area in Mannar.
The arrested individuals have been identified as 31-year-old G. Vigneswaran and 30-year-old M. Lusinath, residents of Gampaha and Wattala, Indian media reported.
Indian media further stated that the suspects were taken to a local coastal police station for further interrogation. Sri Lankan authorities suspect both individuals of being linked to a recent shooting incident that took place in Wattala last Thursday.
Reports also indicate that both suspects are currently facing charges in three drug-related cases in Sri Lanka. Authorities expect to extradite them back to Sri Lanka within a week.
