Sri Lanka Ranked 4th Fastest-Improving Economy in Debt Transparency and Investor Relations: IIF Report

Sri Lanka has been ranked the fourth fastest-improving country in debt transparency and investor relations, following Vietnam, Belize, and Mozambique, according to a recent evaluation by the Institute of International Finance (IIF).
The IIF noted that Sri Lanka is demonstrating rapid progress in debt transparency and investor engagement, actively restoring investor confidence in the aftermath of its debt restructuring process.
According to the report, Sri Lanka’s overall Investor Relations score rose significantly from 37.33 in 2025 to 43.67 in 2026. This improvement has elevated Sri Lanka into the top tier among 57 emerging markets and developing economies evaluated worldwide.
The Institute of International Finance (IIF) is a global association of financial institutions and banks, specializing in economic research, policy advocacy, and sovereign debt restructuring. The IIF plays a critical role in evaluating global financial stability, capital flows, and debt dynamics, while facilitating negotiations between private creditors and governments during debt crises in collaboration with bodies such as the IMF, the World Bank, and central banks.
