Rajapaksa Family Tree in a Cyclone
The consequences of the illegal and unethical actions carried out during the reign of the Rajapaksa family, led by Mahinda Rajapaksa, are being felt even before upcoming judicial verdicts are delivered.
Reports indicate that Mahinda Rajapaksa and Shiranthi Rajapaksa are currently living in two different countries, while internal rifts have publicly surfaced among Namal, Rohitha, and Yoshitha Rajapaksa, leaving little to no coordination between them.
Meanwhile, Basil Rajapaksa and Gotabaya Rajapaksa have completely distanced themselves from Mahinda Rajapaksa and remain isolated. Shamlal Rajapaksa, son of Chamal Rajapaksa, has fled the country and is living in hiding. The Supreme Court of Sri Lanka has already ruled that the Rajapaksa family bears responsibility for driving the nation into bankruptcy.
While investigations into various financial and other crimes committed by family members are ongoing, social media activists point out that the family is already facing nature’s retribution.
In a recent revelation, a letter issued by Namal Rajapaksa has surfaced, showing him using political family influence in an attempt to secure university admission for an unqualified female student.
