Disappearance of 73 T 56 firearms from a camp – Army to launch investigation
Commander of the Army Lt. Gen. Lasantha Rodrigo has disclosed to the media that a comprehensive investigation will be initiated into the disappearance of 73 T 56 firearms from a camp of the Sri Lanka Army.
President Anura Kumara Dissanayake first revealed the disappearance of the firearms and said that 38 of those weapons had been taken back into police custody.
The Army Commander has stated that in addition to the police investigations, the Army has also launched a special investigation.
According to the facts revealed, this stockpile of weapons has disappeared from a camp belonging to the Sri Lanka Army during the Gotabaya Rajapaksa administration. It is reported that several people involved in it have already been arrested.
