Energy Revolution Launched to Shift Sri Lanka Towards Renewable Power

Sri Lanka has launched a series of revolutionary measures to shift its electricity generation—currently heavily reliant on fossil fuels, including coal—towards renewable energy sources.

Wind and solar power generation are leading this transformation. A decisive step in this initiative has been implemented connecting the islands of Delft, Analaitivu, and Nainativu.

This project reduces annual carbon dioxide emissions by 2,600 tons and saves significant foreign exchange previously spent on one million liters of diesel.
