The United States media revealed that 764 tons of hazardous materials were in the containers of the Singapore cargo ship that was coming to Sri Lanka and collided with the Fancy Scott Key Bridge across the Patapsco River in the Baltimore area of ​​the United States on March 26.
The media reported that the waste in 56 containers of the ship contained explosives, lithium-ion batteries, corrosive substances, flammable substances, and various dangerous substances. The National Transportation Safety Board of the United States said it is still conducting its analysis to determine the substances in the ship’s other 4,644 containers.
The US Department of Homeland Security has warned that the waters near the crash site are unsafe for divers.
