ICC suspends Sri Lanka Cricket’s membership
The International Cricket Council (ICC) has decided to suspend Sri Lanka Cricket’s membership with immediate effect.
The ICC Board of Directors, which met yesterday (10th) through the online system, has decided that Sri Lanka Cricket was seriously violating its responsibilities as a member of the International Cricket Council.
It is also reported that the need to manage its affairs independently and ensure no government interference in control, regulation and administration will change the decision to suspend Sri Lanka Cricket.
An ICC meeting is also scheduled to be held in Ahmedabad, India, between November 18 and 21.
International media reports that other decisions to be taken regarding Sri Lanka Cricket will be discussed at the Board of Directors meeting on November 21.
