Indian High Commissioner Commends President Anura’s Commitment to Developing Northern Province and Entire Country
Indian High Commissioner Santosh Jha emphasized that he appreciates the commitment shown by President Anura Kumara Dissanayake toward developing all provinces in Sri Lanka, including the Northern Province.
He made these remarks addressing the gathering at the inauguration ceremony for the construction of the Emergency and Trauma Unit at the Mannar District General Hospital, held this morning (16) under the patronage of President Anura Kumara Dissanayake.
Aiming to expand healthcare facilities for the people of Mannar, the fully equipped unit is being constructed at a cost of LKR 600 million funded by a grant from the Indian Government. Construction is scheduled for completion in the first quarter of 2028.
Speaking further at the event, Indian High Commissioner Santosh Jha stated:
“Under the leadership of Mr. Anura Kumara Dissanayake, Sri Lanka has embarked on a transformative path toward a thriving nation and a beautiful life. We appreciate the President’s commitment to developing all provinces of Sri Lanka, as well as the Northern Province. Furthermore, we are delighted to work alongside the President to realize this vision.
The agreement for this Mannar Emergency Unit was signed under the leadership of President Anura Kumara Dissanayake. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi was also deeply committed to this initiative. India extends support to Sri Lanka’s development considering it a duty to a family member and a great responsibility. We will continue to work together with the Government of Sri Lanka for the well-being and sustainable progress of all its people.”
