Pearl Academy, India’s leading institution for creative education, made its grand return to London Fashion Week in partnership with Fashion Week & The City (FWTC).  Four remarkable designers from Pearl Academy showcased their work for the first time at one of the fashion industry’s most iconic events. This opportunity represents a key milestone for Pearl Academy, strengthening its role as a driving force in aligning developing talent with global exposure.

Held at St. John Church, Hyde Park, the Pearl Academy Show was more than just a runway presentation—it was a statement, showcasing the institution’s unique pedagogy that nurtures complete creative professionals, seamlessly blending technical expertise with bold artistic vision. As fashion becomes increasingly global, the need for exposure on international platforms has never been more critical, and Pearl Academy is at the forefront of bridging that gap for its students and alumni.

Each designer was carefully selected after extensive mentoring at Pearl Academy, where they were equipped with the technical skills and creative confidence needed to present their work on an international runway. The collections, which featured a rich blend of aesthetics, quality craftsmanship, and bold innovation, were a testament to the institution’s commitment to holistic education. The designers’ collections honoured India’s rich craft traditions, while pushing the boundaries of creativity to make a statement on the global fashion stage.

“Fashion today is not just about aesthetics; it’s about storytelling, cultural relevance, and sustainability. At Pearl Academy, we are committed to shaping future designers who don’t just create fashion but influence it. Our curriculum is built on the foundation of holistic learning—combining design thinking, technical prowess, and industry exposure—ensuring that our students are not just runway-ready, but future-ready,” said Ms. Aditi Srivastava, President, Pearl Academy.

Designers Who Made Their Mark:

  1. Shivika Agrawal, a fashion design graduate from Pearl Academy, presented her collection ‘Teikirshy’, inspired by the rich traditions of the Toda tribe, indigenous to the Nilgiri Hills of Tamil Nadu. This collection integrated the intricate and rare ‘pukhoor’ embroidery technique, traditionally crafted by the Toda women. With a vision of preserving and reviving this nearly extinct art, the collection blended modern resort wear with indigenous craftsmanship, offering timeless, high-quality pieces. Using a mix of materials and colours, the designs aimed to create a sophisticated yet nomadic style suitable for global consumers. The collection sought to empower women, support local artisans, and create awareness about endangered crafts.
  2. The brand Ryfin, created by Khushi Agrawal and Satyam Saini, undergraduate students from Pearl Academy, reimagined the vibrancy of India’s iconic energy with a fusion of cultural heritage and luxury streetwear aesthetics. Drawing inspiration from traditional Maharashtrian textiles and motifs, such as lotus flowers and intricate Pathani embroidery, this collection celebrated individuality and cultural pride. The use of luxurious banana crepe fabric ensured sustainability, while bold silhouettes and modern techniques brought Indian artistry into the contemporary global fashion scene. Designed for the discerning urbanite, the collection embodied boldness, heritage, and exclusivity.
  3. Hermnn Singh, an undergraduate fashion design student at Pearl Academy, showcased his brand Gurjot Hermnn The Regal Show with the collection ‘Symphony of Art’, which seamlessly blended heritage with modernity. Drawing inspiration from legendary artists like Salvador Dalí, Frida Kahlo, and Beethoven, the collection featured a fusion of surrealism, cubism, and modernized hand embroideries. It showcased super-fine tailored jackets, flared skirts, and exquisite fabrics such as Italian satin, tulle, and organza, adorned with intricate Zardozi and Ari work.
  4. Pearl Academy alumna Payal Dawar’s collection paid tribute to the rich history and vibrant culture of Bihar, showcasing the exquisite Madhubani art from Mithila, the birthplace of Maa Sita. Crafted from organic, hand-spun Ghicha Silk sourced from Bhagalpur, the collection redefined traditional craftsmanship with modern silhouettes. Designed for the discerning European market, it blended timeless beauty with ethical, environmentally conscious fashion, celebrating authentic Indian artistry and offering sustainable livelihoods to local artisans.

The Pearl Academy Show at London Fashion Week highlights the institution’s steadfast commitment to fostering the next generation of design innovators who are shaping the future of fashion. Through a focus on mentorship, hands-on training, and industry collaborations, Pearl Academy equips its students with the skills and global exposure needed to excel in the ever-evolving fashion world.

As fashion continues to evolve, Pearl Academy’s presence at London Fashion Week reinforces an important truth—Indian design talent is no longer merely participating in global conversations; it is leading them. This showcase is more than a milestone—it represents a movement, solidifying Pearl Academy’s position as a global leader in creative education.
