Japanese Ambassador meets NPP leader

A meeting between Mr. Mizukoshi Hideaki, the Japanese Ambassador to Sri Lanka, and Comrade Anura Kumara Dissanayake, the leader of the National People’s Power, was held today (19) morning at the JVP head office. Mr. Katsuki Kotaro, Deputy Head of the Japanese Embassy, Mrs. Imai Kaori, Second Secretary, and Comrade Vijitha Herath, National Executive Member of the National People’s Power, were also present. The current economic crisis and the political situation in Sri Lanka were discussed at length by both sides and attention was also paid to the upcoming presidential election. The position of the National People’s Power regarding the intervention of the International Monetary Fund was explained to the Japanese diplomatic representatives and the Japanese delegation emphasized Japan’s readiness to continue investing in Sri Lanka.
