JVP and Guizhou Leaders Hold Talks to Expand Bilateral Cooperation
Comrade Tilvin Silva, General Secretary of the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP), recently met with Comrade Xu Lin, General Secretary of the Guizhou Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), during his ongoing visit to China.
The meeting took place on the 12th at the International Conference Hall in Guizhou Province, as part of an official visit by the JVP delegation at the invitation of the Communist Party of China. Comrade Xu Lin extended a warm welcome to Tilvin Silva and his delegation, emphasizing the deep-rooted friendship between the CPC and the JVP.
Congratulating the National People’s Power, led by the JVP, for its growing political momentum, Xu Lin expressed confidence that this visit would further strengthen bilateral ties and provide meaningful opportunities for knowledge exchange. He also highlighted the importance of ongoing cooperation and mutual understanding between the two parties.
In response, Comrade Tilvin Silva praised the CPC’s leadership for transforming China into a global economic powerhouse, calling it a remarkable achievement for the Chinese people under the guidance of leaders such as President Xi Jinping.
The Sri Lankan delegation included Deputy Ministers Eranga Gunasekara and Munir Mulaffar, MPs A.M. Jegadeswaran, Deepthi Wasalage, and Dharmapriya Wijesinghe. The Chinese delegation featured Guo Xiwen, Zhang Jingping, Sun Haiyan, Lin Tao, and other senior CPC officials.
This meeting marked another significant step in building stronger political and developmental cooperation between Sri Lanka’s emerging leadership and provincial authorities in China.
