August 20, Colombo (LNW): Veteran Sri Lankan vocalist Nanda Malini, widely regarded as one of the country’s most influential singers, has died at the age of 82.
Family sources confirmed her death today (20), bringing to a close a remarkable musical career that spanned several decades. She passed away at her residence in Nawala, according to reports.
Known for her distinctive voice and deeply expressive performances, Nanda Malini became one of the defining figures in Sinhala music and earned a lasting place in Sri Lanka’s cultural history.
