Colombo (LNW): The “Little Hearts Project” in Sri Lanka received a tremendous boost with a generous donation of Rs. 1,000,000,000.00 from renowned businessman Mr. Nahil Wijesuriya.

This philanthropic initiative aims to enhance cardiac and critical care facilities for children at Lady Ridgeway Children’s Hospital (LRH) in Colombo.

The donation by Mr. Wijesuriya is expected to significantly expedite the completion of the Cardiac and Critical Care Complex, making a substantial impact on paediatric healthcare in the country.

The Little Hearts Project focuses on addressing the healthcare needs of young patients, particularly in the realm of cardiac care.

The substantial contribution by Mr. Wijesuriya underscores the importance of private philanthropy in supporting critical infrastructure projects within the healthcare sector.

Leader of the Opposition Sajith Premadasa lauded Wijesuriya’s generosity, recognising him as a true philanthropist.

The funds donated will play a crucial role in advancing medical facilities for children, contributing to the overall well-being of young patients at the LRH.

A philanthropist and a well-known business figure, Mr. Wijesuriya is also the father-in-law of Rehan Jayawickreme, the former Chairman of Weligama Urban Council.
