Source

Foundation stones were laid today in Muthurajawela for several projects aimed at strengthening Sri Lanka’s fuel storage and distribution infrastructure, under the patronage of President Anura Kumara Dissanayake.

According to the President’s Media Division, one of the key projects involves the construction of a 21-kilometre pipeline to transport aviation fuel from Muthurajawela to Bandaranaike International Airport in Katunayake.

Construction has also commenced on five new aviation fuel storage tanks with a combined capacity of 90,000 cubic metres.

The Ceylon Petroleum Corporation said the development projects will be financed entirely through domestic funds.
