New Year has dawn early to Matara – Anura Dissanayake
When we see the happy faces full of expectations, it is as the new year of hope for the victory of the National People’s Power in 2024 has come early to Matara, says Anura Dissanayake, the Leader of National People’s Power, addressing the District Women’s Conference under the theme We, women, forgather held yesterday (30) at the Matara Fort Public Stadium,
In the morning, a tsunami warning was broadcast that could affect Sri Lanka, and by the afternoon, it was announced that there was no such danger. However, a great tsunami of changing the country has now started from Matara. He pointed out that more organizations are coming forward with greater strength than the previous wave that could have brought victory to the National People’s Power at the local government elections to be held on March 9.
He said that the National People’s Power has come forward as a massive people’s movement that has surpassed the strength it had in the year 2023 by building several new organizations, including the Retired Tri-Forces Collective, and it has become a great force to rescue this country from the tragic situation the country has been dragged to. He said their endeavour goes beyond the mere purpose of getting votes. He pointed out that courageous women have joined hands in large numbers, and if there was any doubt about the victory of the National People’s Power in any election held in 2024, this women’s conference has completely dispelled that doubt.
