NOC media manager arrested while trying to flee the country

Gobinath Sivaraja, the media manager of the Sri Lanka National Olympic Committee, was arrested by the Katunayake Airport Police around 12:50 am yesterday (27) trying to travel to Dubai by a Kuwait flight despite the foreign travel ban imposed in connection with a fraud case related to the Sri Lanka National Olympic Committee.

After the arrest, the 39-year-old suspect was handed over to the Colombo Fraud Investigation Bureau.

Meanwhile, the police media spokesperson said that the suspect, after being presented to the court, was remanded until June 5.
