The National People’s Power (NPP) has filed two complaints with the Sri Lanka Human Rights Commission regarding deploying riot police to attack its peaceful protest with water cannon, tear gas and the baton charge that injured 28 people and killed one person. The peaceful protest was held by the NPP on the afternoon of the 26th, protesting against many issues such as the increase in the electricity bill, the increase in taxes, the non-holding of the election etc. injuring 28. today (02).
