Sri Lanka Customs has seized more than 396 kilograms of narcotics with an estimated street value of Rs. 4.5 billion in 55 raids carried out since October 2025.
Customs Spokesman Chandana Punchihewa said the seizures were made between 30 October 2025 and July 2026, targeting a range of illicit drugs.
Speaking on Thursday (30), he said the confiscated narcotics included Kush, cannabis, cocaine and methamphetamine (Ice).
Punchihewa also revealed that Customs conducted five drug detection operations in July 2026, resulting in the seizure of 25.4 kilograms of narcotics.
“During July 2026, we seized 25.4 kilograms of various narcotics through five detections. The drugs included Kush, cannabis, cocaine and methamphetamine,” he said.
He said the latest figures highlight the continued efforts of Sri Lanka Customs to detect and prevent the smuggling of illegal drugs into the country.
