A total of 113,307 tourists arrived in Sri Lanka during the first 16 days of August, according to the latest figures released by the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA).
India remained the leading source market during the period, with 25,355 Indian nationals arriving in Sri Lanka, accounting for around 22% of total tourist arrivals.
The United Kingdom was the second-largest source of tourists, with 12,738 arrivals, while 8,106 tourists from France visited the country during the same period.
The latest figures bring Sri Lanka’s total tourist arrivals between January 1 and August 16, 2026, to 1,456,725.
India continued to lead Sri Lanka’s tourist arrivals for the year, contributing 363,585 visitors, while the United Kingdom ranked second with 143,139 arrivals.
