Tharushi brings two golden medals to Sri Lanka

19-year-old Tharushi Karunaratne won gold medals in the women’s 400m and 800m running events at the International Athletics Festival in Thailand yesterday (2).

Tharushi is still in school and is studying at Walala A. Ratnayake Central College. She finished the 400-meter race in 52.48 seconds and the 800-meter race in 05.74 minutes.
It is further reported that she is at the 59th position according to the rankings of international female athletes.
