President’s lawyer Sally Peiris states that the executive should not be allowed to interfere with the independence of the judiciary. He said this while addressing a ceremony held in Weligama. The president of the Sri Lanka Bar Association emphasized that in the next few months, many problems were emerging regarding the rule of law in Sri Lanka and added that the executive is trying to oppress the judges by disobeying certain orders given by the court. He also emphasized that legal professions should work against it.
