According to media reports, the Indian High Commissioner to Sri Lanka, Gopal Bagle, former President and Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa, met with the Indian Foreign Minister and had a long discussion before the Indian FM suddenly departed.
During the discussions with Mahinda Rajapaksa, they also discussed the political situation in Sri Lanka, the manoeuvres by President Ranil Wickremesinghe, the upcoming presidential election and the candidate that the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna would present.
