Beating MPs and burning their houses is justifiable – Namal Rajapaksa
Member of Parliament Namal Rajapaksa, National Organizer of Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna, says that, given what is happening, it is reasonable to attack MPs and set fire to their houses.
He stated this while speaking to the media after a programme held at the party headquarters at Battaramulla.
Namal Rajapaksa further said, “We can also show the numbers. You can see that the same people in those pictures are also on this side. If we show the numbers, we will be in their situation. When conducting the election, you can see who is there and who is not.
The behaviour of some politicians confirms the wrong opinion about politicians in this country. If you look at it like that, it is reasonable to beat us and burn our houses. That’s probably why all two hundred and twenty-five have been rejected.”
However, in a recent press conference, Pohottu Party Member of Parliament and State Minister of Defense Pramitha Bandara Tennakoon stated that it was according to a decision taken by the Pohottu Party that the group joined the attack on the Galle Face struggle in the morning of the day of the burning of the MPs’ houses.
